Yeah, cricket I agree. We look out for each other and I don't want to get into a fight with anyone. Thats why I was so surprised at audrey and to an extent sharon for jumping on me. Yes I said ho hum and so what if I or anyone dies. I don't wish death or pain on anyone neither do I want to go right now but if I do then so what? If we can do something about it then do it. If not then go about your business.
They say some 100 people were killed in the carribean area by the storm. That is too bad, but since I don't know them, I do not get too worked up or upset, thats life. USA kills probably 100 people every day by bombing them or selling bombs to those who do, such as saudi arabia. Where is the upset, where are the tears for them? Or for the 25,000 some odd who die in an automobile accident in the usa every year? Its too bad but if you dont know them then its just something that happened.
I was speaking against the 'lets panic' attitude I was starting to hear. I say just do what is reasonable and don't worry about it. What is wrong with that? I say do not worry excessively about what happens to others in the world who you don't know. If you can do something to make people's lives better, then do it. If not then don't worry about what you can't change. Can any of us change what the storm did? If the answer is no then don't worry about it. is that insensitive or sensible?
I'm sorry to hear you got hit by katrina, a lot of people did. Our own govt was all thumbs in the matter and should have done things way in advance to prevent what happened. But they didn't. I feel sorry for those people but if its someone I don't know then to me its a relatively small thing. I'm just saying what most people feel but its more acceptable to say you care about everyone in the world. I wish good things on everyone, sunshine and rainbows. But stuff happens and if you agonize over everything you just burn yourself out.
Lets hear it for the thousands of people our government has murdered in the middle east. That is something that can be prevented, mathew could not be prevented. See the difference? I'm too logical I guess, sort of like the vulcan spock. Sorry for being logical and not more emotional. I'm a little burned out just trying to care about things close to me.
