Psalm 130 : 1-8

   
1 Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O Lord.
2 Lord, hear my voice:
let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.
3 If thou, Lord,
shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord,
who shall stand?
4 But there is forgiveness with thee,
that thou mayest be feared.
5 I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.
6 My soul waiteth for the Lord
more than they that watch for the morning:
I say,
more than they that watch for the morning.
7 Let Israel hope in the Lord:
for with the Lord there is mercy,
and with him is plenteous redemption.
8 And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.



Today's Prayer...



Lord our God,

Remind us again and again of what you have done
in our hearts and lives to make us certain of the resurrection.
Help us to live in this certainty and to hold fast
to everything good and great which you bring into our lives.
Grant us the assurance that we are gaining ground in the battle
for the redemption of those who are still in darkness
and in the shadow of death.
May we find joy in what we have here and now.
Give us patience in our struggles.
Give us hope for all that has gone wrong,
because even what is in darkness is still in your hands.
In the end everything must be brought to the light so that
all humankind may glorify your great name.
